or in German "Erster Berufsverband der deutschen Usability Professionals"
Description
GC-UPA promote usability and provides a network for the German usability
scene. We provide computer scientists, designers, psychologists
and people from many other disciplines to identity as Usability
Professionals - with shared values, opportunities and challenges.

Members
Over 500 members. Most of them are also organized in regional roundtables
all over Germany.
Events
www.worldusabilityday.de - We will have events in at least ten different
cities, from Hamburg to Munich. WUD is a big event in Germany,
all Usability Professionals are very enthusiastic about it. We
also have an annual get-together, the Usability Professionals conference
(in cooperation with the German Society of Informatics) each September.
This is where Usability Professionals meet Usability Professionals,
present their projects, discuss methods and approaches.
Want do you enjoy about being part of UPA or like about usability?
Good deeds don't come easy in a thoroughly economic world. Usability,
to make a technology more accessible, is much needed and is a wonderful
opportunity to do good.
Final Comments
The German Chapter's work had a big impact on the German Usability
Scene, its visibility and Usability as a business opportunity.
At the same time, it remained open, young, fresh, enthusiastic
- I'm often astonished about the many initiatives, big and small,
that go on. And, last but not least, Usability Professionals are
a very friendly, enjoyable and likable crowd.
