Hotel and Travel Information

The conference will be held at the Minneapolis Marriott City Center in the heart of downtown Minneapolis.

The conference rate is $119 per night single or double, plus applicable taxes. For this rate rooms must be reserved by May 14, 2004. You can make reservations online or by calling (612) 349-4000. The conference code is "UPAUPAA".

The hotel is connected to the City Center Mall, and to 62 city blocks via the skywalk. Rooms include high-speed internet access provided by STSN.

Why Minneapolis? The Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area is a lively and vibrant community, with a robust usability and user-centered design community - and one of the oldest UPA chapters.

There's plenty to do, from the Guthrie Theatre and Prairie Home Companion to the Minnesota Twins baseball games to hiking and boating in city parks and the nearby Chain of Lakes.

By Air:
Fly to the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP). There are direct flights from London Gatwick and Amsterdam.

By Train:
Take the Amtrak Empire Builder from Chicago or Seattle and Portland.

City buses
The Twin Cities Metro Area Public Transit runs buses from the airport to downtown Minneapolis for approximately $2.50
