Projects: About UXPA Projects
UXPA projects are chartered by the Board of Directors to allow a group of members to focus on a specific topic that promotes knowledge about usability or creates resources for usability professionals.
If you are interested in starting a new project, contact a member of the UXPA Board of Directors to discuss the scope and goals of your project and create a project brief. Your project will be submitted to the full Board of Directors for approval.
A project brief should include:
- Project Mission
- Intended Audience
- Project Plan
- Resources Needed
There are many opportunities to volunteer on UXPA projects.
- Join an existing project
Every project has information about how you can join the project, from contributing to a discussion list, to taking on more substantive work
- Work with a local chapter
There are UXPA chapters in many cities around the world. They need people to help organize local meetings and run other chapter activities.
- Write an article
or join the editorial board of a publication
The UXPA has three publications: The Journal of Usability Studies, The UPA Voice, and UX Magazine. The UPA Voice features short articles on industry events and usability techniques. User Experience magazine is published quarterly, and highlights usability developments around the world.
