John B. Smelcer

John B. Smelcer, Ph.D.

John is an independent usability consultant and a contract Project Director with Human Factors International. He has managed IT departments and led the redesign of many intranets, public Web sites, and productivity applications. His MBA is from the University of Illinois, and his Ph.D. in human-computer interaction is from The University of Michigan.

Hal Miller-Jacobs

Hal Miller-Jacobs, Ph.D.

Hal is a Project Director with Human Factors International (HFI) and has been designing and evaluating user interfaces for over 30 years. He consults, publishes, and also teaches the four courses in HFI's Certified Usability Analyst program. In addition he is a Usability Coach, helping new and seasoned practitioners solve usability problems. He is also on the faculty of Tufts University.


Lyle Kantrovich

Lyle Kantrovich

Lyle is a Project Director with HFI. He has over 12 years of experience researching, evaluating, and designing interactive products and systems in many industries. He previously started and led the UX group at Cargill. Lyle serves on the board of directors for the Usability Professionals' Association. He holds a degree in Management Information Systems.
