UPA Puget Sound - Brand New Website!
Over the past 6-months, the UPA Puget Sound Website Usability Team (Forrest Corbett, Dawn Sakaguchi and Priya Guruprakash Rao) volunteered their time and effort to make a new website possible. They followed a User Centered Design approach, interviewing Officers and Members and conducting evaluations to deliver a website where you can learn about the local usability events and eventually jobs and much, much more.

Tuesday, April 20 - UPA Dallas â€“ Design Like da Vinci w/Brian Sullivan
(Grapevine, TX) - Brian Sullivan will lead us through an interactive series of exercises to help expand the mind to think more like Leonardo Da Vinci. The exercises are useful for designers looking for inspiration and creativity. Usability professionals will gain an understanding of design principles which will be useful when making interface recommendations. The event will take place at Sabre Holdings.
Scottish Usability Professionals' Association (SUPA):
Tuesday, April 20 - Usability and Contemporary User Experience in Digital Libraries with Boon Low and Lorraine Paterson
(Edinburgh, Scotland) - This talk introduces a project currently being undertaken at the University of Edinburgh - UX2.0, which aims to contribute to the development of usability research and the assimilation of advanced user interaction technologies in digital libraries. The project development is underpinned by user-centred design (UCD). Technological developments are implemented in tandem with research, UI prototyping, usability studies and evaluation. In this talk, we will present recent project findings: a heuristic inspection carried out on a variety of digital libraries, and research on emerging interaction design patterns.
