Usability in the News

What else is new? (The New Yorker, 14 May 2007)
"We tend to think of technology in futuristic terms, barely noticing many older technologies so ubiquitous as to be almost invisible."

Web 2.0 'neglecting good design' (BBC News, 14 May 2007)
"Describing Web 2.0 as the "latest fashion", Mr Nielsen said many sites paying attention to it were neglecting some of the principles of good design and usability established over the last decade."

More Google Searchology: Usability (PC World, 16 May 2007)
"It does a lot of research involving real people doing real searches while using eye-tracking technology so that Google can see exactly where they're looking on a page of results."

The people speak, USA.gov listens (GCN, 9 May 2007)
"The team behind USA.gov, the federal government's official Web portal, constantly monitors feedback from the site's visitors. The site's recent redesign was based largely on this feedback."

Promote your UPA Events on UXNET
If you have a local UPA Event which you wish you publicize on the UXnet website, contact your "Local UX Ambassador" or even better become a "Local Ambassador" if there isn't one in your area. This helps to promote your event to a wider community and helps to build the UXnet organisation that UPA supports.
