The UPA 2000 conference is scheduled for August 14 through 18
at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville North Carolina. The call for participation is now live at www.UPAssoc.org. The deadline
for submissions is fast approaching-February 4. Please consider
submitting a presentation, business case study, workshop, or
tutorial.
The call for participation
has also been mailed to members and
available on www.UPAssoc.org very soon.
As you think of your
submission, focus on:
1) Involving the audience.
The presentations
which were rated highest by the 1999 conference participants, were those that offered a high level of audience
participation. Think of ways to involve the audience in a truly
interactive session.
2) Connecting to the
Conference Theme
While it is not a
requirement, it is desirable if you can put a twist on your submission that exemplifies the conference theme:
Designing The New Millennium Today.
Consider taking a presentation you gave in the past, and following up on what else you have
learned about the topic, and how you think the changing technology might
affect your findings. Or, find a colleague and submit a panel where you
present your findings, then discuss the future ramifications.
Note: The conference dates have changed, due to
a conflict with another conference. All dates related to submissions,
program, and registration have also moved. Check the UPA website for more
information.
