Meet the New Member Services Manager:

Ed Grochowski is the UPA Member Services Manager.
official title is Member Services Manager. He is very involved in the
day–to-day activities of the UPA, and has worked with the organization
for over a month now.
Ed responds to over 50 telephone calls a week, answering questions on
every facet of UPA business. He answers any e-mail that comes to UPA.
On average, UPA receives approximately 300 e-mail messages per week, ranging
from general membership questions, to requests for consultant listings
and information about job postings. He also sends out monthly mailings
such as new member packets and membership renewal notices. He is also
responsible for posting the job and consultant listings on the UPA website.
Ed is the main contact for Chapter business at the UPA office. On a monthly
basis, he distributes member lists and member demographic information
to the Chapters. He responds to any special information requests from
the Chapters. Ed also assists with the implementation of special Chapter
programs like the $100 UPA Store discount and the Chapters Grant program.
Board of Directors
Ed attends the Board of Directors monthly meetings, for which he prepares
and distributes meeting minutes. He also takes on special research requests
for the Board as needed. For example, he has run special membership queries,
researched book publishers, and contacted vendors at the request of the

Ed has eight years of executive management and consultant experience,
including five years in association management. He served as an Executive
Director for two associations. In that capacity, he planned all their
conferences and meetings, managed their new business development activities,
and staffed Boards of Directors and committees. Through his work with
other associations, he developed annual membership campaigns, managed
organizational training, coordinated officer team development, and planned
and developed international conferences. He also served on the faculty
of accredited educational institutions.
Mr. Grochowski has a Masters of Science in Training and Development from
the University of Wisconsin Stout. He graduated cum laude from the same
university with a Bachelors of Science in Marketing Education.
The Personal Side of Ed Grochowski …
Ed is an avid golfer, even though his scores do not reflect it! One of
his biggest hobbies is restoring classic automobiles. He has restored
a 1970 Cadillac Sedan De Ville, a 1972 Buick Skylark, and a 1974 Cadillac
Sedan De Ville. He is a frequent public speaker and public address announcer.
He lives with his wife Christine who is a high school marketing teacher.
