The NYC Chapter Holds First Meeting
By Peter Mitchell
Editor's note: It's interesting to hear what other UPA Chapters are doing and the meeting topics they're selecting. If you'd like to write about your Chapter's recent efforts, drop me an email at gia_Rozells@intuit.com.
The New York City Chapter of the Usability Professionals' Association held its first meeting on Tuesday, March 5. The meeting was a great success - we had 75 people attend (a full house, and our sincere apologies to those who did not make it off the wait list).
We were fortunate to be able to hold the meeting at the offices of the Bertelsmann Group in Times Square. Our two speakers for the evening were Stephanie Linder, from MetLife, and Lisa Ponte Fazio, from Agency.com. Each speaker provided a glimpse of website usability efforts undertaken at their respective companies, and each speaker provided practical suggestions for improving the ease-of-use of websites.
We will send an announcement to NYC Chapter members when we have planned our next meeting. If you have questions about the chapter, check out our new website at www.nycupa.org or send me an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org.
