Presentation – Evaluating the Usability of Multi-Vendor e-Government Applications Without Bias

This case study involved a usability evaluation of the U.S. government’s e-Travel program. Three vendors’ custom online travel systems were evaluated by expert reviews, analysis of user surveys, and usability testing. A major challenge was the need to conduct and report on the three system evaluations in a non-comparative manner, i.e., independently and without bias. The presentation will relate the lessons learned that will likely apply to other usability evaluations of multi-vendor government programs.
