Strategies for alliance-building and networking to reach UX and business goals

User experience professionals face ‘sales’ challenges every day: from hallway interactions to assure that the UX message, work, and expertise are ‘heard’ to drawing in of international organizations to move forward business goals. In this professional tutorial, participants will understand the different kinds of strategic alliances from very formal, legal joint ventures to less formal cross marketing, co-branding, and even the use of channel partners. Participants will then look at their own situations to determine which strategy makes sense to meet their business goals, get familiar with how to create a workable plan and process that will help them find the best partners for a strategic alliance, and, finally, how to avoid the worst. Develop the essential skill of targeted networking with a plan to sell usability, your organization, or your products and services, and become an ‘intraprenuer’ to promote your essential agenda, concept, and prevent disaster.
