The Evaluator Effect Revisited (CUE-9)

A discussion of why usability evaluators who analyze the same usability test sessions identify substantially different sets of usability problems.

In the Comparative Usability Evaluation study CUE-9, 15 experienced usability professionals independently analyzed the same videos from a usability test. This session presents preliminary results from the study: Did participants essentially report the same problems? What are the causes of the evaluator effect? How can we prevent it?
