"Youve Got One Hour: Now DO something!: Gaining Leverage When Resources Are Limited
Usability professionals frequently face the challenge of delivering something of value when time, resources, or organizational attention are severely limited. This situation can result from a number of different factors, each calling for different strategies. They range from organizational immaturity regarding user-centered design (yes, it still exists!) to adoption of rapid development processes such as Agile, to excessive faith in the power of design thinking without adequate empirical inputs, to the belief that social networking and the viral adoption of certain types of tools has made usability irrelevant. In this talk I will discuss ways that we can respond to these challenges for increased immediate and long-range impact.
