Living social, dying digital

How social media technologies are changing death, grieving and the afterlife experience

Every minute, somewhere in the world, three Facebook members die. Ever wondered what will happen to your Facebook pictures when you die? Learned about someone's death via Twitter? Had a LinkedIn recommendation to connect with a dead colleague? When did you last read the death notices in your local newspaper?

Usability professionals spend an inordinate amount of time negotiating the details of registration screens. Maybe it's time to start designing for the eventualities of digital death.
